SUMMER CAMP

Over the years hundreds of Hickory Street kids have taken advantage of camp and the programs offered there.  Camp opens up the opportunity to grow in faith in an atmosphere of fun and adventure.  Many have made lasting friendships and been able to point to their camp experience as a time where they came to understand God in deeper ways.

In addition to Bible study, campers enjoy canoing on the Susquehanna, hiking nature trails, too many games to mention, swimming and diverse arts and crafts.  Each program offers campers the freedom to express themselves in crafts, drama, music, and athletics.  There is always something for everyone, and the meals have always been a highlight.

There is first-timers camp, swim camp, sports camp. music, arts and drama camp.  There are camps offered for specific age groups, including those in Junior and Senior High, and this year there will be a cooking camp, a family camp, and a clean-up camp at the end of the season so everyone can pitch in to keep the camp beautiful.  Each camp is led by a Christian and caring staff.  It's a great place for everyone to get away from the frenzy of everyday life.

Registrations are available in the parlor of in the business manger's office.  The cost of each camp varies, but Hickory Street never wants money to be the reason for someone to miss out.  For each camper the church will pay half the cost and, if needed, the entire cost.  To be eligible for the scholarship a child either needs to be on the rolls of our Sunday School or actively involved in the children or youth programs.  Fill out a registration form and bring it in to the church (with no payment at this time).  We'll do the rest.

We believe in the camp experience.  It's a place to see eagles and maybe catch your first fish, but it's mostly a place to hear God's vouce more clearly.
