At a special meeting, Session approved a second-mile offering for the people of Haiti. Although
it will take years to rebuild their lives and their nation, we want to help. We are encouraging our members to give
to the special fun established by President Obama and headed up by former Presidents Clinton and Bush. All money donated
will help the Haitians which means that there are no administrative costs. One reason for this is that the money will
initially go into the coffers of foundations already established by our two former Presidents. On March
1 we will send out one offering, equally divided between the William J. Clinton Foundation and the Communities
Foundation of Texas (President Bush's foundation). This means that your donation needs to be into our office by Sunday,
February 28. To save money, we are not printing special offering envelopes. Just place cash in any envelope marked
HAITI, or make out a check to Hickory Street Presbyterian Church and write HAITI in the memo. In giving, always remember
how good the Lord has blessed your life.
