SUNDAY SCHOOL WILL RECOMMENCE ON SEPTEMBER 11

Sunday School at Hickory Street is one of the most important things we do.  As with everything, it is open to the congregation and to the communtiy at large.  From two year olds and up to 12th graders, weekly lessons are presented in hopes of bringing children and youth to an understanding of the Bible and to faith.
Sunday School begins at 9:15 AM.  All children in pre-school through grade 5 meet together for a brief introduction of the week's lesson.  The pre-school (age two through five) go off with their teachers while those in Kindergarten through grade 5 begin a rotation, traveling through several stations (Bible time, crafts and games, music), each one supporting the day's lesson and led by a different teacher (in other words, there's a Bible leader, a craft leader, and a music leader).  It's active and fun for all, including the teachers.
The Junior High and Senior High (grades 6 - 12) meet together.
     Everything ends at 10:30 AM.

This is our Sunday School misson statement, approved by Session in 2010:
Our mission is to share the message and love of Jesus, especially as it is revealed in Scripture.  We seek to plant seeds of faith and create and environment where those seeds will germinate and prosper.  We are called by Jesus Christ to present the gospel to children, believing that only in the community of faith can they come to know Him authentically.  Everything we do is dedicated to this purpose.
